What is the role of a Volunteer? The Volunteer is an important connection to the community. We depend on community volunteers to contribute companionship, care and service to the residents at the Heritage of Foley Campus.
Volunteer Opportunities Many different opportunities are available on the campus of Heritage of Foley. As a volunteer you will enjoy the many different options that you have in volunteer placement. We suggest that you share your talents with the residents, tenants or program participants. Your talents may be musical, spiritual, crafting, special events or visiting with residents. We also have gardening, watering plants, feeding birds or clerical tasks available for volunteers who have this preference. How do you become a Volunteer?
Becoming a volunteer at Heritage of Foley is a process that includes the following:
1. An Application needs to be completed and turned into the Foley Nursing Center. Applications can be picked up at the main desk or requested on-line.
2. The Campus Volunteer Coordinator, Erin VanValkenburg, reviews and contacts the volunteer to set-up an interview
3. Volunteers complete general volunteer orientation with the Volunteer Coordinator. This process is to help you understand our goals and mission in serving seniors.
4. Interested volunteers need to pass a background check and receive a mantoux, a test for tuberculosis.
5. Training and placement will occur according to the skills, talents and interests of the volunteer and needs of the facilities.
